Performing Arts learn about L.I.P.A

lipaimage1This week Performing Arts students were lucky enough to receive an excellent talk and guidance from Katie Read, a former student from Walton High who is now studying BA (Hons) Acting at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.  (LIPA)

Katie delivered her talk at both the Brooklands and Walnut Tree campus to a range of students across all year groups allowing them to develop their understanding of the many opportunities and range of courses available at LIPA.  Students also received top advice regarding audition dos and don’ts and guidance for selecting audition material.

Talent '17 - The Final - 13 July

Make sure you grab your tickets to the final on 13 July as soon as you can to see our 2017 final vocalists (Elisa Yeboah, Sabrina Amani, Shirleen Naibala, Yurara Ohno, Hannah Gray and Shanice Ndymanya), dancers (TJ Moyo and Jessica Gill), Majorettes (Louise Osborne and Juli Watson), Pianist (Aaron Byrne) and Rock Band 'Three Minute Warning' (Charles Porter, Sean Baird, Isaac Trendall and Connor Holly).

One entry per student and hand in to Mrs Stephenson in art department.
Winners announced at arts on a summer’s evening.

Italy trip

IMG 9714Another first for Walton High this year, the school ran its first ever Sports Tour to Lake Garda, Italy during the Easter Holidays. On Sunday 9 April, 6 staff and 57 students arrived ready to spend a week in Italy.  At 16:15, the brand new double decker tour bus was fully packed and we got a lovely send off from the large gathering of parents wanting to wave good bye to their sons and daughters.

The journey took 23 hours arriving at the Hotel Jolanda in Lake Garda at 15:45 on Monday 10 April, The scenery through France, Switzerland and Italy was fantastic and students gazed over the vast lakes and mountains. Little did they know about the amazing views yet to behold on this trip…
