Harrison Reed (YR10) and George Ho (YR9) both competed in the Club: Connect Under 14 Boys 4 x 100m Relay for Milton Keynes Athletics Club at the Müller Grand Prix in Birmingham during the summer holidays.
George ran a strong first leg and Harrison ran a terrific fourth leg, narrowing a gap of about twenty metres considerably in that final stretch. The team finished in second place with a new club record time of 47.33 secs, smashing the previous record by two seconds.
This was a big Athletics meeting with the likes of Mo Farah and other household names competing.
Harrison had the opportunity to discuss his plans for the future with Devon Allen (USA), who finished third in the 110m Hurdles.
George’s overriding memory of the day was looking up and seeing himself on the big screen in the stadium at the start of the race. He’d never experienced anything quite like that before and said it was totally inspiring. He was also very pleased to have met GB Sprinter, Adam Gemili.

Very well done boys. It is incredible that two students from our school should both take part in the same race at such a prestigious event as this.
