Venture Trust

Walton High Venture Trust has been set up to permit the fundraising events which go on in the school to benefit from the status of being a charity.

The funds raised will be dispersed according to the objectives set out in the Deed of Trust, as follows:

  • The advancement of the education of the pupils at Walton High by providing funds, items, services and facilities that it is not the obligation of any statutory authority to provide;
  • To explain in more detail we have prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions and the appropriate answers to help explain how this will work.

Help get £££s from the Government!

The most exciting opportunity has arisen to obtain an additional £25,000 in government grant if we can raise matched funding. This can be in kind or in cash - but we must raise a minimum of £10,000 ideally £15,000 in cash. This equates to about £25 per family, and we are appealing to all our parent community to make a donation of this amount if you can, or whatever you can afford. If we meet our target, we can claim £25,000 from central government.

Please contact Sheila Bushnell on 01908 677954.

The money will be used to renew some of the aging ICT equipment we bought in 2002 when we were first designated a Business and Enterprise school.

Additionally, if you work for a company that would like to be involved with the exciting work Walton High is doing, we would love to hear from you: we would like to explore how we can work together to benefit the company and to develop the remainder of the fundraising required.

The Trustees of the Venture Trust met recently to award another round of grants to projects in the school and we look forward to seeing the results of investment in a variety of projects, including the Year 11 e-cycle project, resources for the textiles classrooms and extensions to the short course programme which we hope will soon include Archery on site.
