Year 8 – Girls 5A-Side Tournament Champions

MK SCHOOLS GIRLS 5 A-SIDE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

The Year 8 Girls MK Schools 5 a-side Football Tournament held here at Walnut Tree ended very well indeed for Miss Mather and her team from Brooklands who were undeniably the best team there.

It has been a fantastic year for this team and they went into the tournament as hot favourites. They did not disappoint. Their skill, temperament, determination and way they worked together was some of the best ever seen in this age category at any one of these tournaments.

They won every single game, conceding only two goals. Asia was fantastic in goal and Mylee was typically brilliant scoring eight goals on the night. It was Erin, however, who got the winning goal in the final against Denbigh just 5 seconds from the end – just as extra time was looming.

Miss Mather gave Erin the Player of the Tournament award, whilst the girls themselves voted for Rachel as Players’ Player.

They really are a terrific team to watch and are very worthy winners.
