Uniform Guidelines
A condition of student entry to classes at Walton High is the wearing of full school uniform and strict adherence to our dress code. Parents are reminded that while uniform supplied by Maisies Superstore is our preference, uniform that is identical in style may be purchased elsewhere. The PE kit is only available from Maisies.
Girls’ Dress Code
Girls’ Skirt
The preferred skirt as part of the Walton High dress code is the David Luke stitched-down knife pleat skirt.
The skirt length should either sit on, or just above the knee. Also, the skirt waistband is not to be rolled-up to make the skirt shorter.
Girls’ Trousers
The preferred trousers as part of the Walton High dress code are the David Luke, black slim fit trousers (DL965). A plain dark belt without an oversized buckle can be worn.
Girls’ Blazers
David Luke sells a fitted black jacket as opposed to a loose blazer which may appeal to some female students. This is optional and you may choose to purchase a black blazer instead. Please note that this is the only fitted jacket that complies with our uniform code.
Black blazers may however be purchased from the supplier of your own choice. Blazers must be plain black with three patch pockets and fastened with two black buttons.
Other items of Girls’ Uniform
- White blouse, either long or short sleeved, must button to collar
- Black socks with trousers
- School tie – available from Maisies Superstore
- Walton High jumper, optional, is available from Maisies Superstore
- Black tights or white socks with skirts. No trainer liners
- Black shoes – no trainers, boots or canvas shoes. For protection, the shoes should cover the top of the foot. The heel of the shoe should be no higher than 4cm. Kitten heels are not allowed
Boys’ Dress Code
Boys’ Trousers
The preferred school trousers as part of the Walton High dress code are either David Luke, black belted trousers (DL959), or David Luke, black elasticated waist trousers (DL957).
A plain dark belt without an oversized buckle can be worn.
David Luke also sells a Boys’ Blazer. Black blazers may however be purchased from the supplier of your own choice. Blazers must be plain black with three patch pockets and fastened with two black buttons.

- White shirt, either long or short sleeved, neck size to allow top button to be done up comfortably, no button down collars
- Walton High jumper, optional, is available from Maisies Superstore
- School tie – available from Maisies Superstore
- Black socks
- Black shoes: no trainers, boots or canvas shoes
All Students:
- Hair should be presentable in style, avoiding extremes of fashion. Subtle natural looking highlights or hair dyed to look natural is acceptable, although Walton High would prefer hair not to be dyed. Hair extensions should be natural in colour.
- Long hair must be tied back. Hair bands/scrunchies must be plain black or burgundy.
- Make-up is not allowed for students in Year 7 to Year 9. Students in Year 10 and Year 11 may wear subtle make-up. If it is noticeable, it is not subtle!
- Nails: extensions are not allowed. Clear nail polish only may be worn.
- Piercings: only one small plain stud earring allowed in the lobe of each ear. No other piercing is allowed.
- Jewellery: no jewellery other than a wrist watch. Walton High does not have lesson bells, so wearing a watch is important. For safety and security reasons other jewellery should not be worn.
- Religious Headwear: a plain black or burgundy head covering is acceptable and should be worn so that the face is fully visible.
