Walton High Celebrates Post 16 Achievement
After a year like no other, Post-16 students at Walton High are celebrating their success with the publication of the results of A Levels and vocational courses. Over their two years of study students have worked hard on their chosen pathways and have shown tremendous talent, creativity and dedication. After the cancellation of their exams and the abrupt end to their time at Post-16, our students showed great resilience and maturity in very uncertain times. We are extremely impressed with how they acquitted themselves throughout the period of school closure and lockdown and we could not be prouder of their personal growth and achievements in and out of the classroom.
We are extremely proud that, yet again, many students will be taking up offers at the country’s most prestigious universities to study a range of highly sought after degrees. Rebecca Rose’s grades will see her attend King’s College London to read War Studies and Shirleen Naibala will read Finance and Business Management at the University of East Anglia. Sam Tye’s A*A*A results see him going to Nottingham to read Economics. Walton High will be well represented at the University of Warwick with Max Tadman’s A* A A grades taking him to study Maths; Tom Newby’s A*AA will enable him to read Biosciences and Lana Singleton (A*AA) will be reading Economics. Achieving A*AB will take Lydia Slater to Milton Keynes College to study Art Foundation. Mattie Walton, having achieved A*AAB, will head to Loughborough University to study Maths and Statistics and Ahmed Mustafa’s ABB will take him to University of Nottingham to study Pharmacy.
Students who pursued an Applied General or Technical pathway are also celebrating success with Natalie Low achieving D*D*D* and going on to study Midwifery at the University of Northampton. Owen Chow’s D*D*DM will take him to University after a year in employment while Grace Spicer’s D*DDD will see her applying for a number of competitive apprenticeships. Azheemah Awoyemi achieved D*D, as well as an A Level in Psychology so she will be going on to study Radiography at the University of Liverpool while Roy Akintayo’s DD will see him go on to read Business Management, Accounting and Finance at the Nottingham Trent University. Alannah Hancock achieved DDD will go on to study Mental Health Nursing at the University of Nottingham.
In addition, a number of students have won prestigious apprenticeships and employment opportunities; Harry Daniels (A B B C) secured a Superyacht cadetship with the UKSA & Falmouth where he will gain maritime qualifications and Kathryn Vercueil (C C D) won a prestigious internship as a Youth Pastor. Abondance Mpase has also earned an well-regarded apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering based in Portsmouth.
We wish all our students the very best on their chosen pathways and know that they will build on their success and positively impact their chosen professions as well as the wider community.
