Workshopping with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Student’s studying GCSE Music took part in an exciting workshop with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in May. Working with the professional musicians, year 9 and 10 student’s from Walnut Tree and Brooklands came up with lyrics and musical ideas for an anthem celebrating the history and culture of Milton Keynes and women’s football in the city. The anthem will form part of the celebrations in the run up to and during the Women’s Euro 2022 tournament this summer. Students were able to get some expert tips from award winning composer Charlotte Harding, as well as learning more about instruments and their potential from the RPO musicians. They are now putting this knowledge to use as they work on their own compositions and are excited to hear the anthem, which will be debuted in the fan zone outside Milton Keynes Station on July 27th
