County Schools Athletics Championships Winner

Last weekend I took part in the Buckinghamshire Schools Athletics Championships at Stantonbury Athletics Track in Milton Keynes and won both the Javelin and Pole Vault competition.

At the start of the day, I competed in Javelin and each competitor had six throws.  I was a little sceptical how I would get on because I hadn’t been training for Javelin recently as my shoulder is injured.  Despite this, I improved my personal best by nearly 5 metres with a throw of 45.91m which I was very happy with.  This secured me the win as the second furthest throw was less than 30m.

After Javelin, I competed in Pole Vault for which I train twice a week at Brunel University in West London.  I started jumping at 3 metres and went up to 3.20m pretty easily which was enough to win the competition.  As my PB is 3.30m I decided to try and beat that and get a second PB of the day so I skipped 3.30m and went to 3.35m.  I was close on my third attempt, but I failed unfortunately.  But I am sure I will jump higher again soon!
